I almost avoided this entire meme! And then @bcompton swoops in and drags the last of us into it.
Let’s see if I can dream up 7 things that I didn’t already list of the damn 25 things meme I was dragged into on Facebook.
1. I’m allergic to Squirrel-Away, which is a powder you mix into bird food to keep… well, squirrels away. Based on the reaction I had to the stuff, I might be a squirrel.
2. I am afraid of eels and ferrets. I don’t like how they move.
3. My mom took my first name, Erica, from Erica Kane. She’s the Susan Lucci character on All My Children.
4. I have been a passionate Weird Al fan since middle school, when a friend introduced me to the song “Amish Paradise.” I’ve since seen him in concert a half-dozen times, I have his autograph on a kazoo, and I still consider the man to be a hero of mine.
5. I had my first kiss when I was 18 years old and in college. This probably makes sense when positioned next to the Weird Al thing.
6. I cannot play any musical instrument (triangle and such aside). I use the left side of my brain for language more than music.
7. I have been writing poetry since I was in 4th grade. I have a B.A. in poetry, and when I graduated from college I won the $8k senior prize for poetry. All that being said, I have never been published. Because I’m a moron.
